So I don’t know what constitutes as a “concept store” but word is Australian makeup retailer MECCA is set to open its first concept store in Auckland.
The opening date is on September 21 and the store will be at Topshop’s former site on the corner of Queen Street and Victoria Street.
This new store is said to become the largest MECCA in New Zealand. We’re talking two floors of makeup galore! Heaven! And because I always enjoy learning something new, I did a quick Google and learned that a MECCA concept store is a combination of its Cosmetica and Maxima brands (so that answers that).
While the Topshop store didn’t work out, I foresee this Mecca store will be a money maker. The new space will feature popular brands such as NARS, Stila, Urban Decay, Too Faced, Smashbox, Drunk Elephant, and Kate Somerville. There will also be an area dedicated to fragrances. Like I said, money maker.
The Mecca brand already has a presence in the city with its Mecca Maxima store on Queen Street. The new concept store will be able to accommodate twice as many people as the Mecca Maxima store so get ready for a beauty frenzy.
