Guys, this is huge. After highly successful seasons in cities like New York, London, and Melbourne, The Book of Mormon is finally making its way to Auckland next year.
The hit musical comedy will begin its limited season from March 6, 2020 at The Civic theatre.
Created by South Park masterminds Trey Parker and Matt Stone, along with Avenue Q creator Robert Lopez, The Book of Mormon follows the story of two missionaries who are sent to a remote Ugandan village to spread the word of their religion. Given who the creators are, the satire will be abundant.
The Tony, Olivier, and Grammy award-winning show has been smashing box office records since its debut on Broadway in 2011 making it one of the most successful musicals of all time. The New York Times describes it as “the best musical of this century.”
Tickets for The Book of Mormon go on sale from Monday, August 5 via Ticketmaster.
