The annual Farmers Santa Parade will take place this year on Sunday, November 24 from 1pm.

Joining Santa in the parade will be giant inflatables of Disney’s Mickey, Minnie, and Donald. Optimus Prime from Transformers will also be there. Plus, making their parade debuts will be new characters such as Owlette and Gekko from PJ Masks, Pikachu, and Leonardo from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

The parade will approximately be an hour and afterwards, festivities will continue with Santa’s Party in Aotea Square from 2:30pm-5:30pm where there will be food stalls and live entertainment.

According to the parade’s website, the best viewing spots will be on Mayoral Drive and the corner of Upper Queen Street and Mayoral Drive due to the likelihood of scoring ample space for viewing the parade.

All inner city roads will be closed between 11am and 5pm so plan how you are going to get to the city to avoid the inevitable traffic. Free parking will be available on parade day for cars parked before 11am and exited between 2pm and 6pm at the Downtown and Victoria Street Auckland Transport car parks.

If it rains, the parade will be postponed to Sunday, December 1 (an announcement will be made on the day).
