A Cirque du Soleil show is like no other and I’m getting the feeling that their brand new show TORUK – The First Flight is going to deliver on giving audiences the visual spectacle Cirque du Soleil is well-known for. I mean have you seen performance videos of the show on YouTube? It looks absolutely breathtaking.

Inspired by James Cameron’s Avatar – you know the film that casually grossed around two billion dollars at the worldwide box office, TORUK transports audiences to the world of Pandora in a visually impressive live setting. The story, however, is set thousands of years before the events depicted in the film, so pre Sam Worthington’s Jake Sully and before any humans arrive in Pandora.

Narrated by a Na’vi storyteller, TORUK follows two Na’vi boys as they embark on a quest to find the mighty predator Toruk after a natural catastrophe threatens to destroy the sacred Tree of Souls.

Like other Cirque du Soleil shows, TORUK is set to deliver audiences jaw-dropping performances with a fusion of stunning visuals, excellent stagecraft and impressive acrobatics.

TORUK will make its Auckland debut tomorrow, September 15, at Spark Arena and will run until September 24.
