The Lions series decider is tomorrow and the anticipation is evident. People are spending big bucks on tickets and some are even flying in from overseas just to be at this momentous test. You don’t have to shell out thousands of dollars to live it up at Eden Park. You can get in on the action and cheer on the All Blacks at one of the many great bars in the city. My top choice is the Northern Steamship Co.
This Britomart staple will screen the Saturday showdown, kicking off at 7.35pm, live on its big screen TVs and giant projector. Watch the rugby in a cosy atmosphere with good food and drinks alongside an excited crowd.
And yes, I know it looks like it is going to rain this weekend and likely the last thing you want to do is leave your warm home and go outside. But this is as close as it’s going to get to a stadium atmosphere. Drink, eat, get loud, and make friends with other drunk rugby fans. Come on, it is going to be a guaranteed fun time out. Although granted some will be more celebratory than others by the end of the night. Who will come out victorious, I am not sure. Dare I say, the result is not as certain.
Whose side are you on?
