We Are The Champions! America’s Cup Parade Set For Victorious Team New Zealand

Emirates Team New Zealand won the America’s Cup and that means one thing… It’s time to party in the streets!

That’s right, we are having a parade.

To celebrate the team’s victory, the parade is scheduled for Thursday, July 6, at 12.30pm.

The parade will begin at the corner of Wakefield Street and Queen Street. From there, it will make its way down Queen Street, turning right into Customs Street East, turning left into Gore Street, and finally turning left into Quay Street to the Princes Wharf/Eastern Viaduct intersection.

The parade will then continue onto the water from the Viaduct Basin for a sail past.

Check out this map for the parade route and the recommended viewing spots.

The weather forecast for Thursday is unfortunate, to put it kindly. It looks like it is going to be a cold and rainy day. It’s not the best parade weather but we can manage. It’s winter in Auckland. We are used to these conditions.

The last time Team New Zealand won the America’s Cup was in 2000 so this latest victory was a long time coming. For this reason, let’s have a fun victory parade and then celebrate long into the night like we don’t have to go to work the next day. Oh wait.
