Finish (Or Start) Your Christmas Shopping With Late Night Christmas

Today, I overheard a lady in the Smith & Caughey’s store say, “Christmas shopping is killing me.” If I knew her, I would have given her a hug because the stress is definitely real. It’s the last full week before Christmas and we need all the help we can get to finish all of our Christmas shopping in time. Luckily, “Late Night Christmas” is returning on Thursday, December 19 with more than 160 stores staying open until at least 8pm.

Select stores in Britomart, Queen Street, High Street, and Victoria Park are going to stay open late on the last Thursday before Christmas. If you want to plan ahead, you can see a full list of the stores taking part in “Late Night Christmas” on the Heart of the City website. It’s crunch time, people!

There are also at least 50 stores that are offering in-store activations and special offers to make things even more festive. This includes wine and platters in-store at Aesop, bubbles and treats at Flo & Frankie, a mystery prize for every purchase at moochi, 50% off sale at H&M, 20% off storewide (with exclusions because, typical) at Coach, and many more.

On top of the shopping, there are over 90 street performers that are going to provide the entertainment as you go around the different shops. The line-up includes string quartets, opera singers, stilt walkers, and of course Christmas carolers.

Because Christmas shopping can be quite exhausting, food trucks are going to be fuelling people up in Takutai Square in Britomart. Free gift-wrapping is also going to be available for shoppers in Britomart’s atrium.

I wish you all the best in completing your Christmas shopping!
