My current girl group obsession Little Mix are coming to New Zealand for the first time with a much-anticipated Auckland show on July 30 at Spark Arena.
The insanely talented girl group are expected to perform songs from their brand new album Glory Days, including the legitimate powerhouse anthem Shout Out To My Ex, as well as their other catchy as hell songs, Wings, Move, Secret Love Song and Black Magic.
Black Magic is the reason I became a Little Mix fan. I remember hearing the song for the first time on the radio during my morning drive to work. I think by mid song, I was already happily jamming along to it. I didn’t immediately recognise the voices so I whipped out my Shazam to find out who sings the song and I was surprised when it said Little Mix. Yes, they’ve always played pop music but this song was different. It had an old-school pop sound to it. It reminded me a lot of the Spice Girls-era of music.
Speaking of the Spice Girls, girl power is real and I love that Little Mix are continuing that empowering spirit not just with their songs, but also with their friendship. I really appreciate the genuine sisterhood in the group. You can tell they’re actually friends. What makes the Shout Out To My Ex music video so good is that their friendship is at the core of it. Little Mix are true friendship goals.
