They say nothing in life is certain however there is one thing I know to be true.. Kiwis. Love. Coffee. And not only that, this nation also prides itself in serving really good coffee. This is why it is not at all surprising that one of the most popular events in town is the New Zealand Coffee Festival.
The New Zealand Coffee Festival Tells The Story Of A Country Obsessed With Coffee
After two years of sell-out events, the New Zealand Coffee Festival returns this year on March 24 at Shed 10.
Given people’s intense obsession with coffee over here, this festival celebrating all things coffee draws huge, happy crowds – well they will be happy after they’ve bought their first cup of coffee, or second, or third.
Would I go as far to say that Kiwis are coffee snobs? Yes, absolutely. There is a reason why the mighty Starbucks is not really a significant player in the coffee scene here. The coffee-obsessed people of this country are so particular about how they want their coffee that being a big brand is just not enough.
I do wonder how much coffee can one person drink at this event? I know some people who drink four cups of coffee a day and I think that is extreme. If you tell me you drink even more than four cups of coffee a day, I would not know how to respond. That is a lot of caffeine. I also know plenty of people who cannot seem to start their workday without having a cup of coffee first. Clearly, the addiction is real and this event is a coffee lovers dream.
If you are keen to go to the festival, buy your tickets quickly before they sell out. Tickets are available via Eventbrite.
