It’s been more than a year since it was announced that Auckland was getting a New York style food laneway in the heart of town. It was called Queen’s Rise. They likened the style of the laneway to the Chelsea Market in New York and I absolutely adored the interiors of this New York icon. I was so excited. Many months went by and still there was no official announcement regarding an opening date; I was starting to wonder whether this place was still opening. Thankfully, official word finally got out about an opening date.

Queen’s Rise is set to open on June 21 at 125 Queen Street with 11 new eateries. Yes, you read that right… 11 brand new eateries. I already get excited when a new one opens, this many eateries opening in one go is a dream!

To hype up your taste buds, here’s a quick rundown of the new eateries in Queen’s Rise so you have a better idea on what you can chow down at this new dining destination:

Ottoman Mezze Lounge
If Turkish-inspired cuisine, shared dining, and laidback luxury interests you, then this is the restaurant to check out. While the menu will be interesting to try, I’m more curious to see how the restaurant will look because all this talk of luxury has me very intrigued. Will I feel like I’m surrounded by money when I dine here? I’ll have to find out.

Lowbrow
Brought to you by the owners of Culprit, Lowbrow will serve the three f’s – fresh fast food. And to put it even more simply, expect good food and natural wine. I’d be happy with that.

Grace
Grace has the potential to be another good after-work drinks spot in the city. They have premium champagne, cocktails, wines, and craft beers. They also serve fresh oysters if that’s your thing.

Dante’s Pizzeria
Dante’s needs no explanation. Their pizzas are delish. But you already know that.

Dolly Bird
Nothing convoluted here. If you want a sandwich, Dolly Bird has you covered. It’s all about the good ole sandwich at this new eatery.

Nourish Pod
Fine, the last two eateries I mentioned are very carb heavy. If you want to change things up, the Nourish Pod serves smoothie bowls, avocado on toast and raw treats – you won’t feel too guilty when eating anything from here.

Potato & Me
And now we’re back to the carbs! That didn’t last long. Just as advertised, Potato & Me is all about, you guessed it, potatoes. I haven’t seen the menu yet but I read that the focus is on oven-roasted potatoes. I hope they also do a variety of chips. I love a good bowl of chips. Don’t fail me, Potato & Me!

Poké Bar
Because poké bowls are so popular right now, it would be such a missed opportunity if Queen’s Rise didn’t have an eatery serving the popular dish. But with Poké Bar, you won’t have to worry about that missing piece.

Panda
What a cute name. Get your fix of freshly made Chinese dumplings and dim-sum at Panda. I feel like this would be a good place to eat at on a cold and rainy night. Feasting on hot dumplings, dim-sum, and tea while it’s chilly outside sounds very comforting.

Tokyo Loco Bowl
You’ve already got smoothie bowls and poké bowls, and now with Tokyo Loco Bowl, you can also add donburi to the list. There are plenty of options available with this Japanese rice bowl dish so you’ll have a variety of meats and toppings to choose from.

Jar Story
Last but not least, get salad jars at Jar Story for those days when you want a healthy and nutritious meal on the go.

And there you have it! Just like that, we got 11 new eateries. Happy dining, guys!
