Are you still stuck on what to do for Halloween this year? Well get rid of those unnecessary worries because I’ve got you covered. There are still various options around town to celebrate October 31 in a fun and scary way.

The Dunstan Creek Haunting
Where: Herald Theatre, Aotea Centre

I find scary stories based on real-life accounts to be extra chilling. The idea that it actually happened gives me the goosies. This show takes advantage of this device and is based on the eerie ghost stories from New Zealand’s 1800’s gold rush. I’ve seen some tweets from people who have seen the show and it sounds like they were genuinely unsettled.

Halloween Screening of The Exorcist
Where: Event Cinemas Queen Street

I enjoy a good scary movie and The Exorcist is one of the classics. Head down to Event Cinemas in Queen Street to watch the 1973 film once again on the big screen for a special Halloween screening.

Halloween Advance Screening of Jigsaw
Where: Event Cinemas Queen Street

If you prefer to see a new horror film, Event Cinemas also has an advance screening of the film Jigsaw scheduled for Tuesday night. Jigsaw is the eight Saw film so expect the usual gore the franchise is known for. I confess gory horror movies are not really my thing but if being grossed-out is entertaining for you, then this is the film to watch on Halloween night.
