I Don’t Know Where To Go For St Patrick’s Day

I don’t know about you but I still can’t believe we’re already in the middle of March. 2018 is flying by way too fast! To my surprise, someone mentioned to me that St Patrick’s Day is this Saturday, March 17. I was shocked when I heard that and I almost refused to believe it because I truly cannot believe that we are close to three months through the year.

Once the initial shock wore off, I immediately started thinking of what to do to commemorate the day. How great is it that St Patrick’s Day is on a Saturday this year? Talk about convenient. Obviously, there is the drinking (lots) and wearing something green. But the main question is: which Irish pub should I go to this year? There is Danny Doolans, O’Hagans, Father Ted’s…

Please help me out. Where do you think is the best Irish pub in town to celebrate St Patrick’s Day?

If you are also after another option of what to do on St Patrick’s Day other than just the usual trip to the Irish pub, you can start your Saturday by stopping by Ponsonby for the St Patrick’s Parade as part of the 2018 St Patrick’s Festival programme. The parade starts at midday at the corner of Ponsonby Terrace and Ponsonby Road, and heads towards Western Park.

Along with St Patrick’s Day happening on a Saturday this year, another convenience is that Ponsonby is really close to town so it is easy to head to the city after the parade and start the drinking. Lots and lots of drinking. I just need to know where to go to for said drinking.
