Along with the racing, fashion is also synonymous with Melbourne Cup. SKYCITY will once again host Fashion on Federal in celebration of Melbourne Cup Day. There will be a Trelise Cooper fashion show featuring the designer’s Spring-Summer 2018/2019 collections – with a focus on event and race wear. There will be a best-dressed prize up for grabs judged by Cooper herself. Five of SKYCITY’s top restaurants will also be offering a long lunch as part of the Fashion on Federal event. You can take your pick from Gusto at the Grand, MASU by Nic Watt, The Grill by Sean Connolly, Huami, and The Sugar Club.
Melbourne Cup at Pilkingtons

And we’ve got ourselves another long lunch! On Melbourne Cup Day, Pilkingtons will be kicking things off from midday with canapés and Champagne on arrival, followed by a three-course set menu. There will be big screens, live music, and a best-dressed competition so there will tons of entertainment for you to enjoy on the day.
Bellini

A things-to-do list for Melbourne Cup is not complete without mentioning Bellini’s very popular Melbourne Cup Day event. The venue does offer that sophistication that is very fitting for the occasion. And you can’t beat the gorgeous views you get at Bellini as you drink your Champagne and party in style.
Melbourne Cup Long Lunch 2018
Where: Botswana Butchery and Harbourside Ocean Bar Grill
Botswana Butchery and Harbourside Ocean Bar Grill have done such a Melbourne Cup long lunch in the past and it was easily a crowd pleaser. Enjoy a four-course lunch and a flute of Mumm champagne on arrival. There will be big screens and TAB facilities on site so you don’t miss out on any racing action. This year’s lunch will feature a race day fashion parade with fantastic prizes to be won for best-dressed man and woman. The after-party will take place in Harbourside featuring DJ Murry Sweetpants and DJ Dan Sing.
The Official Veuve Clicquot Melbourne Cup Long Lunch

Ostro is going all in with their Melbourne Cup event. The long lunch will include a four-course lunch with a glass of Veuve on arrival. If you want a more casual affair, there will be an area called the Clicquot Champagne Lawn that will provide a sharing platter and glass of Veuve on arrival. The Clicquot Champagne Lawn requires a minimum of two people so come along with a friend and celebrate Melbourne Cup in the Britomart precinct.
