What Is In Store For New Zealand Fashion Week 2018

As a self-proclaimed fashion fiend, the one New Zealand-based fashion event I look forward to the most is New Zealand Fashion Week (NZFW).

To be held at the ANZ Viaduct Events Centre, this year’s NZFW is from Monday, August 27 to Sunday, September 2.

For this year’s line-up of designers, you’ve got your mix of established and emerging brands. The key players include Trelise Cooper, Kathryn Wilson, Hailwood, and this year’s Mercedes-Benz Presents designer Knuefermann – who has secured the coveted spot of opening NZFW 2018. I also just want to put it out there that the Trelise Cooper show will be her first after a four-year hiatus from the main schedule so there is a lot of excitement for her return – and rightfully so. Let’s not forget that NZFW will also showcase collections from new graduates and emerging designers in the New Generation and Emerging Couture shows. Also, I did a quick nosy look of the schedule and there is a 5:30pm slot on Thursday, August 30 that is still to be announced. I wonder who it will be…

While the first few days of NZFW is for fashion delegates, the week concludes with New Zealand Fashion Weekend wherein the general public actually gets the opportunity to attend this shindig. There will be shows you can buy tickets for (one of them being the Zambesi show), the Designer Pop-Up Sale where you can score deals on designer items, and the Beauty Hub (your hub for all things glam).
