The gorgeous restaurant will host two murder mystery dinners in August as part of Restaurant Month. Throughout the dinner, diners will take part in a thrilling night of entertainment and crime solving for what could be somebody’s last supper.

This is such a brilliant concept I’m surprised events like this don’t happen more often. I can’t be the only one who loves the idea of murder mystery parties.

I hosted my own murder mystery party for one of my birthdays. It was a total disaster. I read a bunch of articles online about how to throw my own murder mystery party. I was so confident I was going to pull off a great night but nothing went according to plan. I wanted to focus on bringing out my inner Meryl Streep and really get into my role of the socialite but guests at the party were confused at some points on what they needed to do. I felt like I spent a majority of the night explaining things to people. In the end, even I lost the plot and I don’t remember us solving who did it. I think we blamed the butler.

Even though this night was a total mess, I’m still down for a good murder mystery night – as long as I’m not the one hosting it. That’s the main lesson I took away from my experience. Let the professionals run things.

Food to Die For is on August 14 and 15 at Pilkingtons.
