See Awkwafina’s History-Making Performance In “The Farewell” At The Next Silo Cinema Session

Because I believe representation is important, I want to specifically callout the screening of The Farewell for the Silo Cinema session on Friday, January 31 at Silo Park.

The Farewell follows a Chinese family who decides to keep their beloved grandmother in the dark about her terminally ill prognosis and schedules an impromptu wedding to get together before she passes.

The film stars Awkwafina who made Golden Globes history by becoming the first woman of Asian descent to win a Golden Globe for best actress in a musical or comedy for her performance in this film.

If that’s not enough to convince you that this film is worth a watch, Silo Cinema is free. Just bring along something to sit on, eat and drink, and you’re good to go.

Food trucks and the pop-up Silo Bar are available to serve food and drinks from 5pm. The movie starts screening at 9pm.
