The Auckland Art Gallery is hosting what sounds like a fabulous and immersive event called One Enchanted Night to celebrate the launch of its latest major exhibition, Enchanted Worlds: Hokusai, Hiroshige and the Art of Edo Japan.
One Enchanted Night is on March 7 from 6pm to midnight at the Auckland Art Gallery.
The event features Japanese-inspired street food by Ebisu and Azabu, beer by Asahi, and cocktails by Japanese craft Haku Vodka.
Attendees can also enjoy entertainment by Tamashii Taiko Drummers, kabuki characters, and DJ sets going until midnight.
To set the scene even more, the gallery’s rooftop terrace is going to be transformed into an izakaya (pop-up bar) with lanterns and cherry blossoms.
All ticket types include after-hours entry to the exhibition. For those who can splurge a bit more, VIP guests get a complimentary cocktail and goodie bag, and VIP Gold guests get the cocktail and goodie bag plus a private curator-led tour of the exhibition.
