“His laugh is ICONIC.”
That’s what a friend of mine said when I asked if there was anything in particular I need to highlight about Jimmy Carr for this story I’m writing about his upcoming Auckland shows.
Carr is performing 11 shows around New Zealand as part of his The Best Of, Ultimate, Gold, Greatest Hits World Tour. Auckland is getting two shows.
As you can probably tell, I am not too familiar with Jimmy Carr. I know of him. I know he is a successful comedian. But I am not aware of this “iconic” laugh. So I did my research and I went on YouTube to see the laugh for myself. Funny enough, “Jimmy Carr laugh” ended up being the fourth most relevant result when you search for Jimmy Carr.
Okay, I watched a video The Late Late Show with James Corden posted.
That laugh is… special. Definitely unique. I get it now.
And to my happy surprise, this video is highly informative. Not only does it address the laugh, but apparently Carr also welcomes hecklers at his shows. Seriously, people, I am learning so much. I wonder if he’ll get any hecklers during his Auckland shows? Carr said he loves it when people join in so that is an open invitation for those of you attending his shows. For me personally, I don’t know if I will ever have the balls to heckle someone – no matter how bad they may be.
Carr’s Auckland shows are on January 15 and 16 at the ASB Theatre in Aotea Centre. Tickets are on sale via Ticketmaster and Ticketek.
