Now, this is extremely clever…
Good George and Miann now have glasshouse dining structures available to book for private dining at their North Wharf and Fort Street restaurants respectively.
I have not been lucky enough to personally experience dining at these glasshouses (yet) but I’ve seen them in real life and they look really cool, cozy and inviting. The glasshouses are eye-catching, not eye-sores. I even think they can stay when things go “back to normal” – whenever that may be. Basically, praises all around! I feel like I’m having an Oprah moment, “You get a praise! You get a praise!”
As a great example of locals supporting other locals, Kiwi-owned company Winter Gardenz built the glasshouses overnight. To be exact, the team worked until 3am on Wednesday morning to have the structures ready for when the restaurants reopened on Thursday, 14 May – the day we moved to Alert Level 2.
It is quite the understatement to say that eating out is a totally different experience nowadays with contact tracing, social distancing and the ever-present hand sanitisers available for public use. This is why it’s truly impressive when businesses are able to adapt by coming up with clever and innovative ways to continue to operate during these challenging times.
